IF COLLECTIVE

IF Collective, short for Invisible Friends Collective, is an international
community of artists that focuses on individual interpretation and
inspiration. The process begins by establishing a primary theme,
narrative. Then each artist interprets this in a preferred medium
(literature, music, illustration, etc). Interpretation may also include
(but not limited to) direct collaboration in which one artist starts a
piece and the other adds their own unique style and vision. The final
gestalt is exhibited in a book and audio CD format.

The collective's beginning first stems back to the fall of 2007 with
friends Tyler Rachal and Osamu Nishitani. The two agreed that they
wanted to collaborate on something that combined music, literature
and fine art. As discussion went on and empty coffee cups refilled,
the idea ‘awoke’ into something new, larger and beyond their group
efforts. The IF Collective was born in hopes of revealing the beauty
of individualism and the freedom of expression.
